Last Farthest Run on MLK Before Surf City Marathon

Surf City Marathon, last long run, Boston Marathon qualification, MLK run, Venice Beach, Santa Monica Beach, Marina del Rey,

Today was the last longest run day before the Surf City Marathon. I got up early this morning to simulate the process of getting ready for the race, which is less than 2 weeks away. By the time I started my run, it was 6:45 am. It was close enough. 51 Fahrenheit. No wind. 70% humidity. It was perfect. Read More…

surf city marathon 2015, registration confirmation,

Another weekend. Another long run. And today’s run was 19 miles. As of today, the Surf City Marathon is 3 weeks away, and it leaves me with only 2 long weekend runs. The Surf City Marathon sent out the registration confirmation emails to all the registrants this week. Read More…

Not So Great Pace and Stride Length, and 1,100 Mile Goal

bike path, Venice Beach, Santa Monica Pier, pace, stride length, cadence,

Today was a bit of disappointing day, in terms of pace and stride length. Because I had such a great run the other day, and actually it was probably the best pace and time I ever had, I was really hoping to see my average stride length go up and my pace stay brisk. Read More…

What a fabulous, overcast day to do a long run! 16 miles along the beach, and most of all, the perfect temperature (63 degrees) in spite of the sun peeking through the clouds in the early part of the run. Read More…

14 miler, Cadence and New Gel Kayano 21

cadence, stride frequency, stride length,

As it was scheduled, I went for a 14 mile run yesterday. And my main focus was to maintain my recently increased cadence and to increase stride length (SL). It was a perfect day to add a significant amount of miles as the temperature recently dropped significantly due to the rain storm that we had a couple of days ago, so, I couldn’t think of any better place to finish this run other than at the Venice Beach Pier. Waterfront bike path run – 20 miles

Today’s run was a 20 miler.

I had a few moments where I just wanted to give it up, but I kept pushing myself and eventually when I reached about 16 miles, I knew I could get this done. There were two things that I was able to push myself by. 1. considering how much effort I have put in up to this point, the idea of just dropping everything seems to be just plain waste of my life, and 2. this blog.
