500 Miles
I reached a small milestone today. 500 miles! Of course, my goal for this year is to run 1,100 miles, so it means only 45% of the total mileage, and another 600 more miles to run to achieve my goal, but as a matter of fact, I am sticking to my 20-week program, and based on the amount of mileage that I am supposed to run with it, I’ll probably achieve my goal early September, if not, before the Boston Marathon Registration opens. I am pumped up and going to keep the momentum going to successfully complete this program! And the end result is the Boston Marathon qualification.
It took 141 days.
Or 58 hours and 48 minutes.
2015 Progress Report as of today
Of course, it represents only 45% of my goal. But like I talked about it before, my 20-week program ends in the week in August when I am going to run the Santa Rosa Marathon (August 23), my first target race as a Boston Marathon qualifier.
And then 3 weeks later, I would be running the Ventura Marathon (September 13), the other qualifier. Considering the amount that I would rack up during the time between the two races, I have no doubt that it’d help me surpass my goal easily.
And then, there’s this year’s Long Beach Marathon (October 11), which I’ve already signed up for in the name of ‘unfinished business.’ So, I am confident that I will achieve my goal well ahead of the year end.
Tonight’s 4 miler didn’t go down easily as usual. I could tell that my body was quite fatigued, and it is from yesterday’s interval runs. My legs were simply not up for it.
I am a bit worried about tomorrow’s 7 miler, but hope tonight’s sleep will help. I’ll call it an early night tonight.
How was your run today? Any mile stone to celebrate?
Thanks for reading.

Hahaha. Thanks! Yes, 500 miles is an entire worth of distance for some. But I guess it is what matters to each individual. Anyway, hope you have a goal to achieve, then go for it hard. 🙂 That’s what I’m trying to make happen. 1,100 miles! 🙂 LOL

Well, too bad. Apparently, it’s blocked. Can’t be played here in the US. LOL Anyway, hope your injury has gotten better. 🙂

Oh no! That’s a shame. 😦
Yes, the leg is improving, thanks. Bought myself some new running shoes yesterday so itching to get back out there! Shouldn’t be too much longer… 🙂

Bought ‘some’ ? Meaning more than a pair? 😉 LOL Have you read my blog post on my new pair (same Asics Kayano 21)? It is bright and fancy! 😉 LOL

I listed 3 contenders that I considered in one post, and in this post, I updated the arrival of the fancy Asics Kayano 21. 😉 https://chroniclesofthescorpionthatbitorion.wordpress.com/2015/05/11/5th-week-of-20-week-training-and-14-miles/

Ah, they are very nice! I went for the Asics Nimbus 16 as they were a bit cheaper than the Kayanos. Still need to give them a proper road test though. Maybe tomorrow… 😉

I’ve tried those three of them and in the end I had to return to the Kayano. Oh well, it worked for me before and is working now. No other reasons for me to ditch it I figured. LOL 🙂 But, all kidding aside, it’s always helpful to find the right running shoes for running (or hiking shoes and/or boots for hiking). 🙂
